Sir,

With reference to my telegram of the 26th February,

I have the honour to forward the enclosed copies of corres-

pondence regarding the Gunboat "Kwong Lee".

There remain in Hongkong harbour the Gunboate "Kang

Ping",

"Kong kung", "Ying Lun", and "Chai Lai", which are

apparently still controlled by General Lung Chai-kwong.

I shall be glad if the Chinese Government may be pressed

to make arrangements for the early removal of these vessels.

I have, etc.

His Excell ency

(Sa) Claud Severn.

The Right Honourable

Sir John N. Jordan, G.C.I.E.,

etc.

:

His Britannic Majesty's Minister,

PEKING.
